The beginning process involves studying the rough diamond crystal and determining the proper shape and proportions. When the skilled cutter sees into the diamond he can view which direction he will be polishing the diamond and then decides where to saw the diamond. Once it is sawn, the diamond is shaped, then faceted.
After the diamonds have been polished completely and where most diamond manufacturers complete their work, Regency Diamonds Inc.'s staff is just beginning their process to make perfectly matched diamonds. Since we sell so many matched diamonds for our jewelry, our process of manufacturing is more detailed than most others.
The first step in matching diamonds is to group the diamonds according to size and then by color. The second step includes determining each diamonds level of brilliance. The third step is critical in determining perfectly matched diamonds. Each diamond is individually measured by a digital gauge. If they do not match - which is about 90% of the time - our master diamond cutters re-cut the diamonds, so they match perfectly.
All cutting is performed in our factory in New York City. The diamonds are monitored during each step of the re-cutting process to ensure that the highest diamond manufacturing standards are achieved.
